London-based producer, DJ and multi-instrumentalist James Jacob aka Jakwob announces surprise new single ‘No Place Like Home’, his second release for Digital Soundboy.
‘No Place Like Home’ follows his infectious debut for the label ‘Somebody New’, featuring sultry vocals from UK newcomer Tiffany Juno, which dropped last spring to a wealth of blog love, radio and club support from the likes of Annie Mac, Skream, Zane Lowe and MistaJam not to mention an acclaimed Radio 1 Essential Mix.
Jakwob’s latest offering opens with emotive, atmospheric piano stabs and a punchy vocal from Rationale before embracing an escalating drum and bass beat; another big hitter from one of the UK’s most underrated talents. Alongside his own releases Jakwob is prolific in the studio, remixing and producing tracks for a diverse list of names including Usher, Sigma, Charli XCX and newcomer Laura Doggett in addition to producing much of Kyla La Grange’s acclaimed sophomore album earlier this year. He also found time to put out releases from Ragga Twins and new talent Sakima on his own Boom Ting imprint.
With underground dance pioneer Shy FX on A&R duties, Digital Soundboy is home to some of electronic music’s freshest talents and leading lights including Breakage, Dismantle and Radio 1’s B. Traits. Expect to hear plenty more from Jakwob in 2015 and beyond.
